Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg has posted footage of his dog on the video sharing mobile app Viddy.
Unsurprisingly more than 1200 users of the service have already ‘liked’ the video of Zuckerberg’s pup Beast, posted under the username ‘Zuck’.
The app, which has 15 million users, has been compared to the mobile photo app Instagram, which Zuckerberg recently acquired for US$1bn. No doubt the makers of Viddy are holding out over the prospect of a similar future.
Nonetheless, Zuckerberg’s endorsement of the service has been welcome exposure. It would be even better if the billionaire gets around to posting his video on his own Facebook page, which has more than 534,000 fans.
A picture of his dog earned more than 250,000 likes when it was posted to Zuckerberg’s Facebook page recently
Viddy’s popularity is growing. It recently secured funds from big names such as Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Skull Candy’s Jeff Kearl, Jay-Z, soccer star Gerard Pique and his partner, popstar Shakira.
However, it isn’t the only app of its kind. Socialcam is also gaining popularity.
Socialcam app developers recently revealed it added four million users over one weekend.
