Next time you reach for the popcorn at the movies, consider that watching it pop could be far more riveting than what’s playing on the big screen.
No, seriously, hear us out. Two lads, Gav and Dan, have created a YouTube video that shows single kernels of corn exploding by the force of sizzling hot oil, into full blown crunchy morsels of popcorn goodness – all in slow motion.
The footage, posted under the username ‘The Slow Mo Guys’ is surprisingly compelling, and has led to the YouTube clip reaching viral status. It has so far clocked more than 50,000 views.
The popcorn vid is one of a series of slow motion marvels from the guys, including paintballs hitting bare skin.
