If you’re looking for somewhere off-the-scale to spend New Year’s Eve this time around, South Lake Tahoe is your best choice.
At the SnowGlobe festival, you can spend your days skiing and snowboarding, and your nights dancing until you can’t stand to a line up that includes big hitters DeadMau5, Chromeo and Wiz Khalifa.
Why: SnowGlobe launched in 2011 with more than 30,000 people camping, dancing and partying their way into the new year in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
This year they’re pulling out all the stops with dance troupes, artists and winter sports too. You certainly won’t run out of things to do.
Do it because: This is a rare opportunity to experience the ordinarily peaceful Lake Tahoe in a completely different way – absolutely pumping.
Dancing at the already infamous all-night afterparties with a mountain backdrop will be a great start to 2013.
