Perth Glory took to Twitter this morning to announce the battle is on to sign up the midfielder.

“David Beckham has confirmed the MLS Cup final will be his last game for the Galaxy. The race is on,” Glory commented, with Heart chief exec Scott Munn telling reporters: “We’re putting forward an offer.”

Beckham will move in to a new stage of his career after winning the treble with United, becoming one of their all time star players, before moving to Spanish giants real Madrid for £25million in 2003.

He then took his football skills to the States, where he wanted to help build the sport’s profile in the country.

Moving to Australia will be one of the final moves for the footballing icon, and should this move come to pass, he will join the likes of Alessandro Del Piero and Emile Hesky, who both made moves Down Under this summer.
