’17 Countries. 343 Days. 6237 Photographs. One incredible journey.’ is the official description of the time-lapse study which Lam has called ‘Time is Nothing’. He explains “After I quit my job last year, I packed a bag, grabbed my camera and bought a one way ticket to London. 17 countries later, I put together this time lapse video of the many amazing places I came across.”
Covering places that would feature high on most travellers must-see sites, the short film sweeps through England, France, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and the United States. The thousands of frames stitch together showing people (and in some case elephants) streaming through buildings, getting on trains and visiting places of historical interest to spectacular effect.
On his website, Lam, a resident of San Francisco in California, who is a professional weddings and events photographer, describes the experiences he had of each country he visited during his time lapse capturing adventure and recommends some of his favourites spots in Thailand, Portugal and more.
It’s certainly more eye-catching than most people’s holiday slideshow…check out the video below – but be warned, it could well lead to you being tempted to pack your bags today to see it all first-hand.
