Lately I’ve been feeling really down about my life. I’m 31 years old and all my friends are getting houses and babies, and it feels like I’m getting no closer to any of that. Please help.

Try this to put a twinkle back in your step – put all your shit for sale on Gumtree. It’s amazing how much better you feel about yourself when people are willing to pay to have your stuff. I wouldn’t necessarily sell anything to anyone – just enjoy the constant stream of phone calls from strangers really wanting to buy your crappy bike or second hand computer desk. You’ll have a new found appreciation for the things you own and feel a little happier about where you are in your life, even if it is in Birmingham.
