Like a Paris Artful Dodger to Culkin’s Oliver, the pair have become friends and flatmates. The Home Alone star is said to have abandoned his acting career in favour of exploring life as an artist in the French capital.

The flat-sharing duo met through US musician Adam Green, a former member of indie group Moldy Peaches. Culkin recently appeared on stage in Bristol with Green and sang a duet cover of the Beach Boys classic Kokomo.

Musician Doherty, formerly engaged to British supermodel Kate Moss, was sentenced to six months in prison in 2010 for possesion of crack cocaine. He was released in 2011 months before the end of his sentence.

A source told The Sun: “Macaulay and Pete may seem an odd couple but they’ve got loads of interests and life experiences in common.

“They bonded over their love of poetry and art. Macaulay can’t get enough of listening to Pete waxing lyrical about his painting and music.”

“Pete also loves talking to Macaulay about acting, as he’s been trying to launch a movie career.”

Pete Doherty and Macaulay Culkin starred alongside a host of friends of Adam Green in experimental film The Wrong Ferarri, filmed on an iPhone in 2010. Watch it below.
