Apparently, the attendant warned the passengers, who were returning home from a festival, that they should ‘flush anything they shouldn’t have.’
The company said that it was required to play a recorded message on domestic flights about Aussie quarantine laws, but on this occasion a crew member decided to relay the message live.
As quoted on the BBC website, Jetsrat said: “The crew member’s words were poorly chosen and are plainly at odds with the professional standards we’d expect from the team.”
It is thought that the crew member responsible will be disciplined, but several people have taken to Jetstar’s Facebook page to defend them.
“Promote that person,” and “[This is a] fair dinkum true blue Aussie flight attendant,” are just two of the comments made supporting the flight attendant.
