World No 1 Robertson has been miraculous in the opening stages of the World Snooker Championships so far and meets Judd Trump today in the quarter finals.
But all the chat is about him becoming the first player ever to make 100 century breaks after demolishing the previous record back at 61.
He did it twice alone in his last match against Mark Allen, after which the British opponent bowed to his brilliance, but fell agonisingly short of a third on two occasions.
The parallels with other sports isn’t lost on Robertson, a former world champion himself, with Don Bradman’s career ending on an average of 99.94 and Shane Warne never scoring a century, falling short on 99.
“Hopefully I can do it in the quarter-final – but there have been a couple of great Australian sportsmen who got stuck on 99,” the super calm Australian told the press.
“Don Bradman never got the average up over 100 and Shane Warne never got past 99 for his highest Test score.
“I remember he went for a six in Perth against New Zealand and holed out. Maybe I should just try and leave it on 99 to join those two greats.
“But it has been really fun and brought something else to the Championship, it would be an amazing achievement to get it in the next match.”
