Appearing as a guest on the Australian TV panel show, The Project, Hockey was defending Queensland opposition leader Cambell Newman’s frequent public displays of affection with wife Lisa, when he said he would be prepared to smooch the wannabe premier himself – if there was money in it.
I think public displays of affection are pretty good … I would kiss Campbell Newman,” he said.
Proving it wasn’t a flippant remark, Hockey said he would kiss Newman if The Project, a Channel 10 show, donated cash to a charity of his choice.
“$1000 bucks for charity … let’s go,” he said.
