The singer’s son Robin-John Gibb told media that his father was ”completely compos mentis now” and anxious to get back to work.
Gibb Snr fell into a coma after contracting pneumonia in his battle against colon and liver cancer.
”Two days before that they said they’d thrown the kitchen sink at him, that it was time to make plans because he was in God’s hands and such, but he beats the odds again and they gave him an under-10% survival chance and he has beaten the odds … he really is something else.”
Doctors were reportedly amazed by the 62-year-old Gibb’s progress.
His family have been at his bedside while he has been treated at a central London hospital.
They ahve been singing to him, with wife Dwina saying that he had cried when she played him the song Crying by Roy Orbison
