British new-folk stars Mumford & Sons, current darlings of the music press The Maccabees will play at the festival in July.

Also joining the line-up are electro rockers Garbage and the reformed Bloc Party who are on the verge of a fourth album.

In addition, Enter Shikari, Four Tet, Young Guns, Pure Love (Frank Carter of The Gallows), Ben Howard, The Jon Spencer Blues Band Explosion and Here We Go Magic are now booked to perform at Bilbao.

With Glastonbury having a year off and UK festivals becoming increasingly unaffordable, Bilbao BBK Live looks to be a popular choice for music lovers who are keen to see some of the UK’s best bands with tickets priced at just £88, and take in some Spanish culture at the same time. The festival venue is close to Pamplona, where the famous Running of the Bulls takes place each year.

Bilbao BBK Live’s organisers described the festival’s appealing location. “The festival is held on top of a hill surrounded by mountains offering spectacular views over the city of Bilbao. The privileged location of the site, its proximity to the city and beach, and a late start of bands, allows festival goers to make the most of the experience,”

“Bilbao, a modern city famous for its architecture, museums and gastronomy is just a stone’s throw away from the beach and some of the best waves in Europe.”
