Ditch the detox

Forget the January health kick and treat yourself to a slap-up steak dinner instead.

Having first opened its doors in London in 1975, Chez Gerard is back in the city.

Expect top-notch cuts and bottomless frites for about £20 at its new venue (below) in Bishopsgate, east London.

If you can’t wait until lunchtime, head there for breakfast, with tasty options including doorstep smoked streaky bacon sarnies and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.

Tickets from £20 include a glass of bubbly, a hot snack and butler service amid the tranquil 1.5 acres of themed gardens.

Doors open at 6pm and 8pm for screenings. Top way to beat the January blues.
