Natalie Portman has given birth to a healthy baby boy.
The Oscar-winning Hollywood actress is celebrating the birth of her first child with French-born dancer fiance Benjamin Mellepied.
The Black Swan star, 30, met Mellepied on the set of the movie for which she won her Academy Award for Best Actress.
The couple, who announced their engagement in December, have not released the name of their son, according to People magazine, which broke the news of the story.
Portman spoke openly of her husband-to-be and her pregnancy earlier this year, stating: “My beautiful love, Benjamin, who has now given me my most important role of my life.”
Speaking about motherhood, she admitted: “I’m sure I’ll make lots of mistakes, but I’m open to learning.”
Ellen DeGeneres, the comedian and talk show host, led tributes, posting on Twitter: “I’m so happy for my dance protégée Natalie Portman and her new baby boy! Congratulations!”
Lindsay Lohan, the troubled Hollywood actress, added: “congrats to #natalieportman for her beautiful baby boy!”
