A hacking group has targeted Blackberry’s website, after the company agreed to cooperate with police over rioting in the UK.
Hacking group TeaMp0isoN defaced the Inside Blackberry blog which publishes tips and news for Blackberry users.
They changed the site to say they were outraged by cooperation between Blackberry manufacturers and UK police to identify rioters and looters who used the service to plan their movements.
In its statement, TeaMp0isoN insisted it didn’t condone attacking innocent people or small businesses.
But it said: “We are all for the rioters that are engaging in attacks on the police and government."
They argued that giving subscriber information could lead to the wrong people being prosecuted.
"Innocent members of the public who were at the wrong place at the wrong time and owned a Blackberry will get charged for no reason at all."

The statement added: “The police are looking to arrest as many people as possible to save themselves from embarrassment”.
The group threatened to release names, addresses and phone numbers of Blackberry staff if the company give police access to users’ personal information.
Under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act, police can request mobile phone data relating to individuals conducting criminal activity.
