A growing number of Brits are travelling thousands of miles to get their festival fix, paired with sandy beaches and clear waters, according to new research by ticketing agent, Skiddle.
The survey of over 1,000 Brits, revealed that 27% of Brits had attended a festival overseas, while almost half (45%) plan on attending a festival abroad in the next 12 months, as festivals goers look to replace the traditional summer holiday with an overseas festival.
Warm weather, big line ups, and cheaper ticket prices traditionally associated with overseas festivals are part of the pull for the thousands of British festival lovers travelling to events abroad every year.
And while UK festivals still rule the roost in general, overseas festivals such as Electric Elephant and Secret Garden Party in Croatia, Exit in Serbia, Captured Festival in Ibiza, and Spanish soirees Sonar and Benicassim, are growing increasingly popular.
