Where do you work?
I work for Admiral Group. We’re the leading hospitality and catering recruitment agency in London, and we supply temporary and permanent staff to some of London’s hottest venues, most prestigious hotels and iconic London attractions.
What is your job title?
I am the managing consultant for the front of house division within Admiral.
What does your job entail?
Everything from the recruitment of passionate and energetic hospitality professionals, to supporting and training them, with the end goal of placing them with one of our many exciting London clients.
What’s the best bit?
Definitely working with people. You get to meet so many interesting characters in this line of work…
And the worst?
Seeing my staff move on. The temporary industry attracts a transient group and while I really love working with these young Aussies, Kiwis and South Africans, I tend to miss them when they start travelling again or are snapped up by one of our clients.
How did you get your job?
Kiwis in London. Ever heard of it? It’s an amazing Facebook group which has gone viral over here! It’s used for everything a Kiwi in London could ever need.
What qualifications/experience do you need?
Apart from recruitment accreditations, a real passion for sales and hospitality!
What advice would you give someone who would like a job such as yours?
Work your way up through the ranks. 90% of our Recruitment Consultants come from the industry, as it allows them to better understand the clients and the temporary staff we work with daily.
