Ba did not play in Newcastle’s defeat on Wednesday night to Everton, with Pardew saying before the match that he had been unable to keep the Senegalese striker at the club.
“He will go to Chelsea with our blessing. He has done fantastic for us and it’s not a bad thing, all the uncertainty is now done and we can move on,” Pardew said.
Despite Pardew’s assertions, Blues boss Rafa Belitez has not confirmed the new addition to his team.
“I know Alan Pardew is talking but officially he is not our player,” Benitez said after his team’s shock one-nil defeat last night at Stamford Bridge to bottom of the table QPR in which Blues old boy Shaun Wright Phillips struck a 79 minute winner.
