Top US X Factor bosses have given Cheryl Cole the green light to move to America.
Peter Rice, Fox’s Chairman of entertainment said: “If Cheryl was to be on the show, I think she’s proved that she’s a terrific judge.”
He added: “She has a wonderful chemistry with Simon.”
Commentators argued that bosses were concerned about Cole’s Geordie accent, which they feared would confuse audiences.
But now it appears that Cole’s US dream could come true.
Rice confirmed that the US version of the show will have four judges, including two women and two men, one of which will be Simon.
Cowell has already said that one of the judges will have “quite long hair”.
Rice said: “I think Simon’s an incredible producer of TV. I think he knows how to make the show work and I think it’s going to be embraced over here.”
