Set in the Biscuit Factory, this central London climbing wall offers free sessions every Wednesday and Friday evenings for beginners, improvers and those looking to have fun while getting fit.

Climbing is excellent for cardiovascular and strength training. It also improves agility, endurance and helps tone fast.

Although, you probably won’t even realise you’re training at The Arch once they kit you up with some rubber shoes and teach you their nimble techniques.

This centre focuses on bouldering (ropeless climbing), which is actually a lot safer than using a rope (no, really, honest), if done at a reasonable height.

Mercifully, the floors at The Arch are lined with deep spongy mats to catch climbers that fall.

There’s a choice of various shaped walls including different grades, holds and overhangs (for better climbers), plus an extra section with bars and finger walls to practice precision climbing.
