The 48-year-old woman, who a witness described as ‘off her face on drink’, had allegedly demanded ‘cigarettes and a parachute’ so she could jump from the plane.
When crew denied her request, she reportedly kicked off, slapping a young girl in a nearby seat before unbuckling her fake leg and swinging it at staff.
They eventually managed to restrain the woman and handcuff her to her seat, but Thomson Flight 297 had to be diverted to Gatwick, where it made an emergency landing.
She was then escorted from the plane.
