And basically all those other things that my mum started to believe in during her protracted midlife crisis.

So it was with autogenetic scepticism that I agreed last week to a dream consultation with Emma Leverton psychic, spiritual medium, trance healer and dream analyst.

It turned out that my dream; about selling unicycles for deaf people and purple parque flooring from a small shop in San Fransisco, was about personal frustration at having to repeat a year at university.

The experience was entirely enjoyable and Emma’s interpretation of my dream certainly seemed to make sense.

And while my wizened cycnical heart couldn’t entirely accept some of the extraneous cosmic bells and whistles, if there’s one person I think could convince me it would be Emma Leverton.

Luckily, I got off the phone before she was able to snap me entirely out of my staid rational view of the world, but if you’re interested in having a peek into your subconscious mind, or fancy testing your own cynisim, a dream analysis is a the perfect way to do it.

And if you do, you’re in luck, because the London Bed Company is hosting free dream analysis sessions at Selfridges in London this week.
