Rather than banging house and techno, it’ll be the shrill squealing of guitars – and equally howling vox – that steers you into the new year with former Libertine Carl Barat joined by his group of Jackals for this duo of end of the year shows.

Despite delighting fans with the reunion of his former band earlier this year, Barat is choosing to welcome in 2015 with not one but two intimate gigs. Recruiting his new band via a south east London-based audition process, Barat and the Jackals will be cranking out their spik,y grungy, indie alt-rock at first The Amersham Arms in New Cross before hot-footing it across town to Shoreditch’s The Macbeth after midnight to continue the party.
