The images published in Google’s Street View Project allow users to check out 28,000 miles of roads in 82 cities and villages across six regions of northern Japan.
The 360-degree images are linked to a map of the area, allowing you to piece together a detailed insight into the damage caused.
Google Street View shot most of the images in July this year.
You can even compare “before” and “after” shots of some regions, showing just how badly the country has been affected by the twin natural disasters.
Google said on the site, called Memories for the Future, “It is our hope that this will help people rediscover lost memories of their homes and towns.”
Residents from the featured regions can also post their own photos and videos online as part of the project.
