The 35-year-old victim, known only as Hasse, body was found by his neighbour, Bertil Ståhfrääs, who said that it was so bloated and swollen from all the stings that identifying the the corpse was almost impossible.

Hasse had suffered 147 seperate hornet stings, including an eye watering 54 individual stings on his genitals. Needless to say, according to Mr Ståhfrääs anyway, Hasse’s man parts were somewhat, umm, engorged.

“I have never in my life seen such a swollen pelvic bone. It hid the whole package [and] the scrotum was enlarged. Right now it feels heavy and unreal. We did not talk very often, but he was still my neighbour.”

According to the story on the International Business Times a subsequent autopsy of Hasse’s swollen remains found a number of dead hornets covered in semen. At least he managed to get one off before then end, I suppose.

A great deal of pubic hair was also found to the violated entrance of the hornet’s nest in question.

Of course, the man’s death has raised some pretty valid questions, not just in Sweden but in the wider, online world. First amongst those questions, to my mind anyway, is why? Why would you anyone possibly want to have sex with a hornet’s nest?

For starters, hornet stings are envenomed, which means they are even more painful than wasp or bee stings. They are also able to sting multiple times unlike bees and some wasps.

Secondly, it’s a nest! Made of chewed up pieces of bark and bits of hornet saliva. I can’t imagine that feels particularly pleasurable… Particularly when a heap of hornet’s are stinging your junk at the same time!

Siv During Livh, a man who purports to be both a psychologist and an expert on sexual fantasies and fetishes, reportedly told Swedish News, “”To attempt to have intercourse with a hornet’s nest is a very bad idea.”

I wonder how many years Livh had to study at University to get the wherewithal to come up with that gem!

While the investigation into Hasse’s bizarre death continues, more questions so far have been raised than answered.
