“I have six cameo parts in this strange, ambitious film. I do a lot of killing and raping. I wear an awful lot of prosthetic make-up, too. You probably won’t know that I am in the film!” Grant told Empire magazine.
The film, based on the novel by David Mitchell, also features a host of impressive stars including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent. Directing the ambitious film are Wachowski brothers Lana and Andy, as a colloborative project with German writer/director Tom Twyker, who also wrote the adrenaline-packed Run Lola Run.
On agreeing to do the film with the Wachowskis Grant said he “admired them enormously” described the director brothers, who were responsible for the Matrix series of films, as “charming and fascinating.”
Cloud Atlas is described as an epic historical sci fi reveolving around the intertwining lives of several characters going across hundreds of years in several countries around the world. Be prepared for a real mind-bender!
