The fight may be moved back home from the proposed Durban venue if Thinus Strydom is unable to secure TV rights for the SA bout, despite Williams signing a contract requiring him to fight once a year in South Africa.

“It will be very good for boxing in south Africa to bring a superstar like Williams, but let’s wait and see what happens,” Strydom told boxingscene.com.

27-year old Williams holds the New Zealand heavyweight title and is currently undefeated after five fights. Bortha, known as the ‘White Buffalo’ has mocked Williams’ since his victory at the start of the year taunting him that the fight could be staged at half time as that is all the time he’d need to get the job done.

43-year-old Williams has 48 wins, three draws and seven defeats.
