Garbage’ Shirley Manson and Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, took Icon and Genius rewards respectively at the Brixton Academy presentation.
Gallagher was presented with his award before thanking “my Mam…and an army of songwriters…past and present.” Older brother Noel, took the same award a few years earlier.
Alt-J and Haim took the best British and International Bands, with Mercury nominated J Hus taking home Best Album for Common Sense.
The award ceremony was brought to a finish with Gallagher going through a back catalogue of Oasis classics with Rock ‘n’ Roll star and appropriately Cigarettes and Alcohol finishing his set.
