Lindsay Lohan has started house arrest at her luxury beach villa in Venice, California.
The actress has to spent 35 days in confinement at her home after pleading no contest to stealing a necklace from a jewellery shop. She also has to do 480 hours of community service.
According to TMZ, Lohan was fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet during a 5am visit to Lynwood Jai.
Lindsay pays around $7000 a month in rent for the house, which has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a rooftop deck.
Her ex-girlfriend DJ Samantha Ronson lives next door.
24-year-old Lohan has been trying to get work as an actress after a long dry spell. According to rumours, she could appear in the remake of Stephen King’s Carrie.
