A gunman is on the loose after a shooting in Sydney’s west, police say.
Police received a triple-0 call about a shooting incident on Greystanes Road at Greystanes about 9.45pm (AEDT) on Monday.
They arrived at the scene to find a 22-year-old man suffering a single gunshot wound to his leg.
It
was believed the man had heard some nearby commotion on his street,
went outside his house to investigate and was shot, police said.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a satisfactory condition.
Police are searching for the gunman, who fled the scene immediately.
A crime scene has also been established at the man’s property and police are seeking statements from witnesses.
