Justin Street, aged 22, supposedly went to Rivera’s apartment on May 5 for the procedure.

The US Court in New Jersey heard that Street died the following day after the operation. He had suffered a silicone embolism.
Rivera pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless manslaughter.

35-year-old Rivera is thought to have conducted other procedures of the same nature from her home in East Orange, New Jersey.

Rivera, has been granted bail but refused to comment through her lawyer on Tuesday, reported Metro newspaper.

Dr Daniel S Elliot, a professor of urology at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota explained that medically there is no justification for this procedure. He was quoted in Metre newspaper: “If there was a legitimate method for penile lengthening, Johnson & Johnson or Pfizer would have bought it and made billions and billions of dollars worldwide,” said Elliot.
“The fact that they don’t means it doesn’t exist.”

Injecting anything into the penis is highly dangerous as the substance will go directly into the blood flow. Liquid silicone obtained by illegal methods could result well result in death if injected.~

Similar cases have seen women buying silicone on the black market to enlarge their breasts, hips and buttocks. Paraffin, hydro gel, and petroleum jelly are also used on the black market to perform highly dangerous procedures.
