New band – Black Books: Psychedelic and sun-soaked Austin five-piece

Their mixing of southern rock vibes with laid-back, ambient-accompanied slow-build atmospherics, and driving, thumping drums brings to mind their fellow Texans The Secret Machines.

Black Books have been playing together since school and their self-titled debut is about to hit. In the meantime they’re over here supporting The Flaming Lips as well as fitting in a few headline shows. Wayne Coyne’s seal of approval is a good thing. Get reading!
