Traverse 13 will be taking place in Brighton between April 19-21, 2013 billing itself as an “alternative conference”.As well as offering practical advice from top bloggers and industry experts, visitors will also be able to network with experts.
With an emphasis on “learning by doing, rather than listening”, the event will host workshops, giving delegates the opportunity for “hands-on learning”.
Traverse kicks off on Friday, April 19 with an evening networking event organised by Travel Massive.
A full-day conference takes place the following day, hosting speakers which include Steve Keenan former timesonline.co.uk travel editor; Tnooz.com co-founder Kevin May; social media expert Julie Falconer; and photographer Tom Robinson.
Michael Ball, organiser, said: “With the exception of one or two, all the sessions at Traverse will be in workshop format, instead of the traditional talks that other conferences and events of this kind feature.
“This is better for people to actually learn the subject of the talk/workshop, instead of listen to an hour long talk that is too often nothing but a sales pitch.
“We’ll have 12 workshops on subjects such as WordPress, smartphone photography, SEO, social media, video editing and charity blogging.”
Networking will continue on Saturday night before a “working breakfast” draws the conference to its climax on Sunday, April 21.
Tickets cost from £32. See traverse-events.com for full details
