The Gangster Squad and Drive star was speaking to GQ Australia when he revealed that preparation for a role unveiled to him the joy that is knitting.
“I did this scene in Lars and the Real Girl where I was in a room full of old ladies who were knitting, and it was an all-day scene, so they showed me how,” the Canadian actor told the magazine, before adding: “It was one of the most relaxing days of my life.”
So smitten was Gosling with the old lady pastime, that it has left an indelible impression on him.
“If I had to design my perfect day, that would be it,” he said, surely making him even more appealing to the hordes of women fans he already has.
“And you get something out of it at the end. You get a nice present, for someone who wants an oddly shaped off-putting scarf.”
