The ex-wife of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, is Australia’s least-trusted British royal, a new poll reveals.
The Reader’s Digest survey of 1220 Aussies found we are more likely to trust parents-to-be Wills and Kate, and Queen Elizabeth, who took first, third and second place respectively.
Prince Harry, who earned a reputation as the family’s enfant terrible after he admitted to smoking marijuana and wore a Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party, managed a respectable fourth place on the list.
But Prince Charles, Australia’s next monarch, scraped in at only number 11.
“Poor Prince Charles ranks lower than all his siblings, as well as a niece, a daughter-in-law and a sister-in-law – perhaps surprising for the man who expects to be king,” Australian Reader’s Digest managing editor Louise Waterson said.
“And our future King’s queen, Camilla, can only manage a miserable 16 out of 17 in the royal trust rankings – barely scraping in ahead of the hapless Sarah Ferguson, who tried to sell media access to her ex-husband Prince Andrew.”
Pippa Middleton, whose posterior won her plenty of admirers after her sister’s wedding to Prince William in 2011 pushed her into the spotlight, came fourth-last on the list, which is being published on Tuesday.
