Sharon Osbourne’s £200,000 ten-carat diamond Tiffany wedding ring was burgled seven years ago, but she “cried for joy” after hearing it had appeared on Crimewatch earlier this week.
Detectives are attempting to trace the owners of over £1m worth of stolen jewellery that was seized from a house in South Yorkshire.
An anonymous call was made after the programme saying that some of the jewellery belonged to the Osbournes, who were victims of a robbery from their £3million house in Buckinghamshire in 2004.
When the ring came up on BBC’s Crimewatch on Tuesday, presenter Kirsty Young is reported by The Sun to have said: “Let’s just talk about this little beauty here – quite a bobby dazzler.”
When she was told it cost £200,000 she gasped, and said: “Just for that.” She appealed to viewers to call the studio if they knew who it belonged to.
Three hours later, a Twitter user sent Kelly Osbourne a link to the programme’s website. When it was the stolen ring, The Sun reports, Sharon and Kelly “cried for joy”.
Kelly Osbourne said yesterday: “Thank you Crimewatch. My mum is over the moon.”
