Yep that’s right! You can be a part of this brilliant event to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Album. Will Williams, founder of Will Williams Meditation, is proud to announce the second edition of Shavasana Disco, a brand new series of music events aimed at providing a truly unique auditory experience through guided meditation and classic album listening parties hosted at the same studios they were originally recorded.

Taking place on Friday 12th May 2017, Will Williams’ Shavasana Disco is now set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s seminal 1967 album Are You Experienced?. Hosted at the iconic Olympic Studios where it was first cut to tape, lucky ticket winners will be led in a guided group meditation by Will Williams followed by a full playback of this classic LP. A limited number of tickets are available to win via ballot entry at www.shavasanadisco.com, to be announced in April.

Committed to spreading and passing on the ancient knowledge of meditation in a way that is practical, enjoyable and relevant to people of all walks of life, Will Williams worked in the music industry for several years before combining his two great loves of music and meditation to create Shavasana Disco. This Jimi Hendrix special will be housed in the iconic Olympic Studios in Barnes, South London, where fans will be able to experience the works of a master in a way like no other, allowing the meditation session to heighten the senses of one of rock’s most respected LPs.

‘Are You Experienced?’ remains the most popular Jimi Hendrix album and one of the most stunning debut LPs in rock history, complete with hit singles ‘The Wind Cries Mary’, ‘Hey Joe’, ‘Foxy Lady’ and ‘Purple Haze’. Whether its the poetic lyricism, the mind bending rock instrumentation or jazz inspired approach to rhythm, ‘Are You Experienced?’ was a slice of musical genius from Jimi Hendrix; reflecting a time half a century ago when musical experimentation knew no limits.

Whilst Abbey Studios may have had The Beatles, it seems Olympic Studios took care of everyone else. With over 100 years of history, Olympic Studios has been graced with numerous esteemed recording artists alongside Bowie, including The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Pulp, David Bowie and Oasis and many more. Restored in 2013, the studios now boast a state of the art cinema plus an award winning Dolby Atmos 3D sound system, one of the finest soundsystems in Europe.

Whether a newcomer to Jimi Hendrix’s Are You Experienced?, this brand new concept is set to refresh the listening experience with a unique approach to wellbeing and classic albums alike, a blend that’s never been seen or heard before.
