The woman at the centre of the Silvio Berlusconi sex scandal, Karima El Mahroug – aka Ruby the heart breaker – has appeared in her underwear on an Italian TV commercial.

Karima El Mahroug made the most of her notoriety by appearing in an advert for a book by former MEP Alfonso Luigi Marra called ‘The Female Labyrinth’.

It’s not the most demanding role, but Ruby the heart breaker does a good job of having her clothes ripped off by a man dressed as The Phantom of the Opera.

The 18-year-old was apparently paid up to 100,000 Euros (£83,700) for the advert.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is due to go on trial in April accused of paying for sex with El Mahroug when she was still a minor.

According to reports last October, Berlusconi met El Mahroug when she was 17 through Nicole Minetti, a TV showgirl turned dental hygienist who acquired a post in Berlusconi’s Freedom People party after cleaning the PM’s teeth.

El Mahroug claims that she attended “bunga bunga” sex parties at Berlusconi’s mansion where he gave her €7,000 and some jewellery.

However, the model denies having slept with the 74-year-old prime minister.

“It the first time in my life that a man has not tried to take me to bed. He behaved like a father, I swear,” El Mahroug told La Repubblica last year.
