Mr Trotter, 41, learnt that he’d scooped the jackpot last Friday night at around 10.30pm – and here’s the eerie crux of the matter. He predicted his own win.

As reported on the London24 website, he was so convinced that he’d win the lottery that he joked with (possibly skeptical) staff at his father’s office that “this time tomorrow” he’d be rolling in it. Luckily for him, his wish came true.

Unsurprisingly, the mechanic is set to quit his job at the Mitcham garage he was working at and indulge his love of British touring car racing.

“I’ve always thought I’d win big, and I’d had a good feeling all week,” he said. “I worked my last shift on Friday repairing and spraying other people’s cars.”
