The Great Barrier Reef (also known as the world’s largest living organism) has been creating a little-seen show; it’s been busy reproducing, and the visual effects are dazzling divers lucky enough to see the spectacle.

Coral on the reef only gets frisky once a year, when it releases eggs and sperm into the sea for external fertilisation.

Speaking to Sky News, underwater cameraman Richard Fitzpatrick said: “To be in the right place at the right time is a great thing…people can come out during the coral spawning season and see what is the literally the greatest sex show on earth.”
