The Mayor’s Thames Festival
WHAT: The south banks of the Thames are transformed into outdoor performance spaces when the area plays host to London’s biggest and best free arts festival.
WHEN: September 11-12.
DO IT BECAUSE: There’s plenty happening on the banks of the Thames year-round, but they can still be a bit grey and foreboding. For this event, though, they explode in a burst of colour and chaos. It’s a great vibe on an early autumn evening, with highlights including music, installations and street theatre.
