Tulisa, 23, beat the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Cheryl Cole to the top spot. While last year’s winner Huntington-Whiteley slipped all the way down the list to 18th place, former two-time winner Cole took second.
Pop star Rihanna was third, glamour model Rosie Jones came fourth, Celebrity Big Brother contestant Georgia Salpa took fifth, and newly divorced Katy Perry came sixth.
Pippa Middleton just missed out on the top 10 and took eleventh place, while her sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, placed at 32.
Whether Tulisa’s sex tape had any bearing on her meteoric rise to the top spot is anyone’s guess.
The former N-Dubz singer said that the accolade was “a lovely confidence boost”.
She added: “I’m proud of me and I am who I am. I know that I’m Marmite and I wouldn’t want to be anything less or anything more, I’m just myself.
“This is an award that will stay on the mantelpiece probably for the rest of my life.”
Completing the top 10 list of world’s sexiest women, as voted for by FHM readers, are Megan Fox, old favourite Keeley Hazell, Mila Kunis and Emily Atack.
The full list of the world’s 100 sexiest women is available with the June edition of FHM, on sale now.
