Speaking to Sky News, he said: “[There have] been decades of bad blood between skateboarders and police, and it’s not going to get fixed overnight.”

Mr Zwicky has seen positive results so far, and said: “I would love it if other agencies would catch onto this and see just what an impact this can make with the kids in their community.”

However, plenty of kids aren’t too sure about his preferred method of transport, and often ask him if he’s for real.

The carless cop spends a large part of his day patrolling green spaces and skate parks, and he’s attracted the attention of local skaters, who often ask to have their picture taken with him.
