“Holy fook!” said Brit Show John Oliver of the decision to acquit Zimmerman, before a segment of the show titled ‘Wait! What? How could you possibly… You’ve got to be kid… There is no way… I can’t… Oh. My. God.”

Oliver, who is presenting the Comedy Central show in place of long time host John Stewart while he is away directing his debut movie, Rosewater, said of the decision:

“How does 2013 Florida have a law that seems cut and pasted from 1881 Tombstone?”

Zimmerman had been on trial for shooting an unarmed teenager and had confessed to the shooting, yet through a peculiarities of the state of Florida’s laws about what constitutes self defence, he was found not guilty in a court of law.
