Qantas was quick to point out the group were crook before they boarded and made the most of the plane’s eight toilets for almost from Santiago, Chile, to Sydney, Australia.

“The people were sick prior to the flight,” a Qantas spokesman said. “It was a tour group that had food poisoning so it was contained to them.”
A NSW Ministry of Health spokesperson said the group suffered “vomiting and diarrhoea on the plane”.

Sick passengers were greeted by medical staff on their arrival at Sydney International Airport.

“Ambulance will assess the sick passengers, and if well enough to leave they can be cohorted through the airport with minimal exposure to other passengers,” the MoH spokesperson said.
