To celebrate Easter, Parisian bistro Blanchette will be running an egg painting competition on Sunday 27 March. A basket of eggs will be placed on each table alongside paints for guests to unleash their creative side while enjoying Blanchette’s delicious dishes and specially created Easter punch. Once painted, guests must share pictures of their eggs on Instagram or Twitter and tag #blanchettesoho to be in with a chance of winning a bottle of Champagne-Jacques Picard.
This Easter, executive pastry chef of Café Royal, Sarah Barber, has designed a show stopping milk chocolate Easter egg, that will be filled with salted caramel chocolates and finished with a milk silver shimmer spray. The egg will be available from The Café at Café Royal on Regent Street from Friday 18 March to Monday 28 March, and is priced at £20.
Up in the heights of Tower 42, Jason Atherton’s City Social has been coming up with some inventive ways of serving its cocktails in time for Easter. The first pitcher cocktail on the bar’s menu, the ‘Duckanter,’ is a beautifully crafted duck-shaped crystal decanter inspired by the Aylesbury Duck vodka that is mixed with St Germain, rhubarb grenadine, sugar syrup, lemon and apple juices to create the sweet concoction served within. A playful nod to the theme of birds at Easter, ‘Duckanter’ also contains enough servings for four to five glasses – ideal for group celebrations!
Flesh & Buns
Usually only available on Sundays, Japanese DIY gua bao restaurant, Flesh & Buns, will be serving up its popular brunch offering on Easter Monday this year. The restaurant offers two bottomless brunch menus, both including a welcome cocktail on arrival and bottomless prosecco, a selection of small dishes to start and a choice of gua bao bun fillings for the main offering. Of particular note for chocoholics this Easter is Flesh & Buns signature s’mores served with chocolate fondant. Mmmm!
Tom’s Kitchen Deli
To celebrate Easter 2016, Tom’s Kitchen Deli in St. Katharine Docks and Canary Wharf will be offering fresh hot cross buns and handmade Easter eggs. From the 14 March, hot cross buns can be baked to order for collection the following day and are priced at £6 for four, or £10 for eight. Easter eggs will be available from 21 March, with a selection of mini white, dark and milk chocolate eggs, beautifully decorated and wrapped, available for £5 per bag.
