Wildlife spotting iPhone app Instant Wild launches

The app, called Instant Wild, is connected to motion-sensitive cameras set up in forest clearings, watering holes and plains in Kenya, Sri Lanka and Mongolia.

You can choose which cameras to follow and will receive an alert when a picture is taken and will see the image in real time.

By matching the photo with an image in the Field Guide, you’ll save conservationist thousands of hours by helping to sort the images by species group.

The Instant Wild app has been developed by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), which hopes to discover new species with the help of the people using it.
