Earlier that day, the couple had gone to the National Indigenous Training Academy, where they had awarded certificates to young Aboriginal students.

During their tour of Uluru, William and Kate were told Aboriginal stories connected to it that have been passed down generations, and they later got to see the sun set over the giant sandstone rock.

Prince George didn’t accompany them on the trip to the outback region, and as temperatures reached 31ºC and the flies came out in their droves, the young parents must have been relieved he was spared the intense heat.

According to Sky News, both William and Kate struggled to stop themselves from swatting the pesky flies away.

“They were all coming for us,” said William, when a young girl asked how he kept his composure.
