For those who are familiar with Mr Simmons and his own crazy take on comedy, you’ll know what to expect – anything! From smashing empty taco shells into his naked torso, to swinging manically on a rope into the audience and decorating the whole stage with gazillions of waving cats, he is a comedy creation unlike many others.
With this new show he picked up a Foster’s Comedy Award nom for Best Show at this summer’s Edinburgh Fringe festival, and was unlucky not to pick up the gong itself. Having gone from strength to fantastically silly strength with his solo career (he’s currently based in Los Angeles working on a new US TV show pilot which he’s described as a reality show about animals’) – Sam’s an absolute Oz treasure making wonderful waves over here.
Attend and laugh – you must.
