Liquid lunch
Treat yourself to a liquid lunch at The White Horse on Parson’s Green this Tuesday, where the Brooklyn Brewery’s brewmaster Garrett Oliver will be holding a tutored tasting between 1pm and 3pm.
For £20, you get five of the New York-based brewery’s “rarest and finest” beers matched with ace-sounding dishes including rosemary-crusted sweetbreads and spicy lamb rump burritos.
Call 020 7736 2115 or email info@whitehorsesw6.com for tickets. Frothy fun.
Movies and munchies
Free gourmet hot dogs, popcorn and a movie are on offer at The Crooked Well in Camberwell on March 18 as part of the Camberwell Free Film Festival, taking place between March 14-24.
The Michelin-rated restaurant is screening critically lauded offbeat romcom Me And You And Everyone We Know at 7.30pm, with free snacks for all, plus you can buy cocktails at the bar.
Call The Crooked Well on 0207 252 7798 to reserve your place.
Food for thought
As if you needed an excuse to drink your way through the massive Belgian beer menu and eat your own weight in moules et frites at London’s chain of Belgo restaurants, the eatery has cooked up a special range of dishes to support Red Nose Day, which raises money for those in need in both the UK and further afar.
Rather wonderfully, this means you can eat the likes of whipped cream-laden waffles for a good cause until March 31.
